RM / bhp is the daily self-drive rate divided by the manufacturer’s brake horsepower, to one decimal. It is a blunt instrument — it ignores tyre width, kerb weight and where the torque actually lives — and it is still the fastest way to see what a badge is charging you. Power bars are scaled against 640 bhp.

You send

  • 01

    Dates and times

Collection and return, with the hour on both. Friday 18:00 to Monday 10:00 is the block that costs least per day.

  • 02

    Car, or a shortlist

One name off the board, or three in order of preference. The top three rows are single cars, not a pool.

  • 03

Condominium, hotel driveway, KLIA, or collect at the yard and hear it start cold.

We send back

  • 01

    Availability, per car

Free or not free for that exact block, and the next date it is, if not.

  • 02

    The hold, to the ringgit

Between RM 1,000 and RM 1,500 depending on the car. Held, not charged.

  • 03

    The total for the block

Rate, mileage allowance, delivery and the per-km rate beyond it. One number, no surprises at the desk.

    The ramp question

Your basement height bar and ramp profile, asked before the car is loaded and never discovered afterwards on the scrape.

How old do I have to be to rent a supercar in Kuala Lumpur?+

Twenty-three for the sports and supercar tiers, with at least two years of continuous licence history. The entry tier — Civic RS, A200, A5, Golf GTI — opens at 21 with one year held. These are insurance conditions, not house preferences, so we cannot move them for a birthday or a good reason.

I have a foreign licence. Can I drive?+

Yes, if you bring your home licence plus either an International Driving Permit or a certified English translation. We check both at handover and photograph them for the agreement. Without the IDP or translation we cannot release the car, because our policy will not cover the drive and neither of us wants to discover that after an incident.

Can I add a second driver?+

Yes, at handover, and they must be present with their own documents and meet the same age and licence-history criteria as the primary renter. An unnamed driver at the wheel voids cover entirely, which means the full value of the car sits with you and not with the insurer. It is the single most expensive shortcut anyone takes with a rental.

What is the security deposit and when do I get it back?+

It is a refundable hold, not a charge, and the amount is printed on every car page — it scales with the replacement cost of the car, not with the daily rate. We release it after the return inspection, typically within three to five working days, and the timing after that belongs to your bank and not to us. Anything deducted is itemised with photographs.

What is the insurance excess and how is it different from the deposit?+

The deposit is our hold against damage, fuel, tolls and fines. The excess is the fixed first portion of any insurance claim that you carry before the policy pays. They are separate numbers and both apply. If you kerb a wheel and the repair is below the excess, it comes out of the deposit and the insurer is never involved.
